This Privacy Policy explains how Ankush Wadhwa, sole proprietor (trading as Ankush) ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares personal data when you use karmi.ai and its related tools, calculators, and services (collectively, the "Site").

We are committed to handling your personal data — including sensitive details like your date, time, and place of birth — with care and in compliance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act").

1. What We Collect

Depending on which part of the Site you use, we may collect:

A note on dependents' data: Some tools (Kundli Matching, Muhurat Finder, the Baby Naming Report) ask for a second person's birth details — which may be a partner's, family member's, or child's. By submitting this data, you confirm you have the authority and appropriate consent to share it on that person's behalf. If the data belongs to a minor, you confirm you are their parent or legal guardian.

2. How We Use Your Data

To generate the astrological calculations, chart packs, and reports you request
To process and fulfil paid orders (Karmi Intelligence Pack orders, Reports, Consultations, Vastu quotes)
To respond to quote requests and bookings
To send you the transactional emails tied to your order or booking (confirmations, delivery, reminders)
Where you've opted in, to send you astrology insights, offers, and updates by email or WhatsApp
To detect your approximate country (via IP address) so we can show you the right currency and pricing — we do not use this to build a location profile of you

3. How Long We Keep Your Data

We do not currently apply automatic deletion timeframes. Data you submit — including birth details — is retained indefinitely in our systems unless you request deletion (see Section 7). Specifically:

Your generated Karmi Intelligence Pack content is stored permanently and remains accessible via your unique order link
Place names you or other users search for (for chart calculations) are cached indefinitely to speed up future lookups; this cached data is a place name and its coordinates only, and is not linked back to you individually
Records can be deleted on request; see Section 7

4. Who We Share Your Data With

We use the following third-party service providers to operate the Site. Each processes only the data necessary for their function:

Razorpay — payment processing for India-based orders
Stripe — payment processing for international orders
Resend — sending transactional and (where consented) marketing emails
LocationIQ and OpenStreetMap/Nominatim — converting the place names you enter into geographic coordinates for chart calculations. On some pages, this lookup happens directly from your browser to OpenStreetMap's service, meaning the place name you type may be sent to OpenStreetMap directly.
ipapi.co — detecting your approximate country from your IP address, for currency display only
Google Analytics / Google Ads — on select pages, for site usage and conversion tracking (a Cookie Policy is forthcoming)
Meta / WhatsApp Business — once wired, if you opt in to WhatsApp updates

We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

5. Cookies and Tracking

Google Analytics and Google Ads are used on select pages of the Site and set their own cookies. They load only after you accept cookies via our consent banner. If you decline, they are not loaded.

Certain pages also store limited information (your name, email, phone, and marketing preference) in your browser's local storage, so you don't have to re-enter it across tools. This stays on your device and is cleared if you clear your browser data.

6. Your Rights

Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time (every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link)
File a complaint with our Grievance Officer (below), and if unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India

8. Children's Data

The Site itself is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data about a child directly from that child. Where birth data belonging to a minor is submitted (e.g. Baby Naming Report, family chart matching), it must be submitted by that minor's parent or legal guardian, per Section 1.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision.
