The five limbs of the day — Tithi, Vaar, Nakshatra, Yoga and Karana — with Rahu Kaal, Abhijit Muhurat and sunrise timings, computed for your city.
पञ्च + अङ्ग — five elements that together describe the quality of a day
Brahma Muhurat — the last 96 minutes before sunrise — is prized for meditation, study and sankalpa. Abhijit, the window around solar noon, is a reliable all-purpose muhurat (traditionally skipped on Wednesdays).
These segments of the day are traditionally set aside — new beginnings, journeys and signings are usually scheduled around them. Routine work continues as normal.

The daylight hours divided into eight equal muhurta segments
The lunar day — each 12° of angular distance the Moon gains over the Sun. Thirty tithis complete one lunar month, fifteen in each fortnight.
The weekday, each ruled by a graha — Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn — which colours the day's basic nature.
The 27 lunar mansions the Moon passes through. Your birth nakshatra is one of the most personal signatures in your chart.
One of 27 combinations formed by adding the longitudes of the Sun and Moon — a subtler measure of the day's temperament.
Half of a tithi. Eleven karanas rotate through the month; some are considered favourable for beginnings, others for closure.
Because it is carved out of the actual daylight period between local sunrise and sunset. Different sunrise times mean different windows — which is why this page asks for your city.

Sunrise, sunset, Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga and Karana are all calculated from the same Swiss Ephemeris / Lahiri ayanamsa engine used across the site — not a simplified approximation. For muhurat decisions around major events, we'd still suggest booking a consultation to factor in your own chart alongside the day's Panchang.
Shukla Paksha is the waxing fortnight from new moon to full moon; Krishna Paksha is the waning fortnight that follows. Many observances are fixed to a specific tithi of a specific paksha.
